When I put my baby registry together I was working at Caro Bambino so I spent my days eyeing all of the best baby products and obsessing about what I should get for our little one. I started putting our registry together really early so I could give myself the proper time to overthink it and change my mind a million times. I bring this up because I waivered on the Fast Table Chair quite a bit. We were already set on our high chair for our kitchen table and most restaurants offer high chairs, so why would anyone need this? Well, I have to say, we didn’t use this chair until Abigail was 10 months old. First, Abigail needed to be able to sit up on her own before using this chair and second, we needed an occasion that made sense. Well that occasion came last Thanksgiving. We spent the day at a friend’s home who didn’t have a spare high chair laying around so our portable high chair got to come out for a test drive.
This chair is simple. It takes minutes to set up and once it’s assembled you don’t have to disassemble anything. The arms collapse into the middle and it all fits perfectly into the hidden carrying case that’s attached to the bottom of the chair. Genius. The only thing I would add is a handle onto the carrying case but that’s a minor flaw in a really useful piece. The fabric cleans with just a damp cloth although you can pop it in the washer if you have a real mess on your hands. It also lasts until your child is 37 pounds, so about 3 years old. I don’t think they’d want to sit in it any longer than this anyway.
We have used this on vacation in a condo setting. I’m not sure what we would have used if we didn’t have this. Can you rent high chairs? I’m happy that I will never have to know this answer. I also love that she’s at a better height in this chair than she is in a restaurant high chair. Her chin typically sits at the table height in your standard wooden restaurant high chair making her have to reach up a bit to eat and for some reason it just means more mess. Less mess is what we’re going for.
I will defiantly be bringing this to restaurants now. She’s more comfortable and it takes about 2 minutes to set up... what’s not to love? This is not something you need to add to your registry since you can’t use it until about 6 months old but it was nice to have on hand when we were ready. Caro Bambino always stocks this chair so you can pop down on the fly and pick one up if you find your day has come to start using this incredible portable high chair.
